Tracking Usage & Analyzing Demo Performance in Storylane

Understanding demo engagement is crucial to optimizing its impact. Storylane provides powerful analytics to track demo performance at multiple levels.

Key Engagement Metrics

📊 Impressions – Number of times the demo was opened.
👤 Uniques – Number of times the demo was opened by unique users.
Engaged – Number of times a unique user interacted with the demo.
🎯 Leads – Captured leads from the demo (unidentified leads appear as "unknown lead").
🚀 CTA Clicked – When a viewer clicks the CTA button (e.g., signup or demo request page).
Time Spent – Total time a viewer spent in the demo.
📅 Last View – The last time a specific lead viewed the demo.
Completion Rate – Percentage of guided steps a viewer completed in the demo.

Global Analytics – View engagement data across all your demos.
Single Demo Analytics – Get performance insights on a specific demo.
Session Analytics – Track individual viewer activity within a demo.

How to Track Lead Sources?

Storylane also supports UTM parameters to help track where leads are coming from. These can be monitored in the Analytics Dashboard.


Analyzing Demo Performance

How to View Demo Analytics?

Global Analytics

  • Navigate to the Analytics tab in the left sidebar.

  • On the Activity page, view all viewers across your demos.

  • Click on Insights to see analytics for all demos in one place.

  • The Accounts page provides a company-level engagement overview.

Single Demo Analytics

  • Find your demo and click the "Views" button at the bottom of its card.

Session Analytics

  • Go to Analytics > Activity and select a specific session to see detailed engagement.

Export Analytics

  • Navigate to Analytics > Activity and click "Export CSV" to download demo data.

  • The report will be emailed to you.

⚠️ Troubleshooting CSV Exports:

  • Check your Spam folder.

  • Ensure the Storylane domain is whitelisted.

Factors Affecting Demo Performance

📊 CTA Click-Through Rate (CTR)

  • Formula: (CTA Clicked / Uniques) x 100

  • Navigate to Analytics > Engagement to track this metric.

📈 Final Step Completion Rate

  • Navigate to Analytics > Engagement and hover over the final step of your demo.

  • A minimum of 20% is a good benchmark for both CTA and completion rate.
